Retrospective fifteen (May 2013)

Given the way in which blogs are presented, I am convinced that posts which reside more than a scroll or two behind the most recent are doomed to languish and to be forgotten. Because I believe there is value in looking at contributions from days, weeks, and even months ago, I present here a gallery of images presented during May of 2013. Perhaps it will be interesting to scroll through these and to compare them to those presented during this past month. Be patient, it may take several minutes for all of the images to load fully. Hovering over an image will reveal its title. Clicking one will take you to a carousel view and you can either move through the collection or click the links to read each post in its original form. Note that this is the fifteenth in my series of retrospective posts. If you’d missed any of the others you can find them all by using the search feature in the sidebar to the right, simply search for retrospective.

  1. I am always looking forward to these retrospectives! I can remember most of the images – but especially the poppy!

What is interesting is that these images directly trigger some memories of what I did last year at the time, or rather how I felt last year … the effect that is usually attributed to odors (only).

    1. Weird … that my photos (and your visual sense), when viewed retrospectively, should provide the same sensory recall as your olfactory sense. Is that a comment on YOU … or on the images? I wonder! D

      1. Just to be sure – I didn’t mean the images trigger the same memories as some scents (that would be weird) … just that memories from last years are recalled ‘as quickly’ or ‘as directly’ by images – in the way experts usually say they may by scent. I am really not sure if that is comment about me or the images πŸ™‚ – I guess both. When I look at your images at the first time I usually try to put into words what this image spontaneously makes the think of. Probably that makes the images tacked directly to a state of mind … whatever … πŸ˜‰

    1. Yes … the place we’ve been looking at is quite close to Laconia and Meredith. Joanna says, if we should move there, we simply won’t drive in that direction two weeks either side of bike week. Did you know that bike week actually has a website … check it out … http://www.laconiamcweek.com/ … it’s scheduled for June 14 – 24 … perhaps you can shine up the Harley and drive on up? D
