Retrospective fourteen (April 2013)

Given the way in which blogs are presented, I am convinced that posts which reside more than a scroll or two behind the most recent are doomed to languish and to be forgotten. Because I believe there is value in looking at contributions from days, weeks, and even months ago, I present here a gallery of images presented during April of 2013. Perhaps it will be interesting to scroll through these and to compare them to those presented during this past month. Be patient, it may take several minutes for all of the images to load fully. Hovering over an image will reveal its title. Clicking one will take you to a carousel view and you can either move through the collection or click the links to read each post in its original form. Note that this is the fourteenth in my series of retrospective posts. If you’d missed any of the others you can find them all by using the search feature in the sidebar to the right, simply search for retrospective.

    • Thanks Jenny. For me at least, this blog is about the images … but comments nearly always seem to focus on the accompanying prose. Thanks for taking the time to comment on this photos this time around. Very much appreciated. D

  1. Wow – already one year has passed since you challenged us with the Royal Blue Junior puzzle?! Again I like the composition of these great images – in particular the cheeky little sheep side-by-side with the gloomy clouds.

  2. These are lovely images and a great retrospective, I can’t say how others view their reader but I scroll back whenever I log on, thats one of the things I like so much about this rather than say twitter, there is time to go back and really read, rather than watch a rush of posts drop in to your feed and then its overwhelming leaving me with no desire to read them. Having said that I really like the collection idea too. I hope you do more.

    • Thanks so much Julie. It’s cold and cloudy and just-plain-grey here in PA this morning. So cold that I had to light the stove to warm the house. With the warmth to my back I sat to see what might have developed overnight in my WordPress comments section and was greeted by your delightful and supportive words. Just what I needed on this ‘downer’ of a day. Thanks again – really. D

  3. Good series of images! I do have a couple posts that seem to rise above that usual “buried after a couple more added” syndrome you speak of, although it is rare to make that happen.

    • Hey there Wayne … thanks much for the ‘thumbs up’ on the images … taking the time to say so is much appreciated. Yeah … I like the blog environment but even infinite scrolling doesn’t allow folks to experience the totality of the thing … major drawback, but such is the nature of this digital technology. Have a great day … and, thanks again for stopping by. D
