A scarf to Ghana
You may recall a recent post titled Long Draw which described Joanna’s use of a Walking Wheel. The yarn she was spinning was intended for a scarf for Barb, the woman who previously owned the wheel and who made a gift of it to Joanna. What I did not mention earlier was that when Barb passed along the wheel she also presented Joanna with a small two-harness table loom. It had always been Joanna’s intention to use both of these generous gifts to produce the scarf in thanks. The project was finished last weekend. The material is of natural colored Shetland wool. It is a plain weave with a pattern of Spanish Medallions. Barb is now living and farming in Ghana, West Africa.
