I would like to thank fellow blogger Bill at MOTIONPhotography for his kindness in nominating me for a Very Inspiring Blogger Award. I accept, with gratitude. One of the obligations of accepting this award is to tell you a few things about myself; so, here goes: (1) I grew up in Massachusetts, (2) My wife and I have lived and worked on Pairodox Farm since 1989,Β  (3) There was a hiatus of more than 30 years between being a staff photographer for my high school news paper and taking up the hobby of photography once again a year or so ago, (4) I have a genuine addiction to morning coffee, and (5) I enjoy writing and work very hard (with Joanna’s editorial assistance) to make my blog an interesting place to visit. As a recipient of this award it is also my responsibility to nominate a few of my favorite blogs for the same. Therefore I nominate the following WordPress blogs to receive the Very Inspiring Blogger Award,Β Wing and a Prayer Farm, She Kept A Parrot, Leanne Cole’s Photography Field Trips, breathofgreenair, The Timeless Treasure, Duck? Starfish? but … 23, talainsphotographyblog, and Appropriately Frayed. Since establishing my own Pairodox blog the people responsible for these thoughtful and inspiring sites have been sources of constructive feedback, support, and motivation. Thanks everyone.

  1. WOW! That is fantastic! So fun to learn of the “back stories” of the blogs. Grateful for the shout-out! I’m quite behind in reciprocating. Bad manners. My grandmother would be ashamed. Truly, though, it is much fun to visit Pairodox – the first thing that attracted me to your site was your “eyes have it” in which you spotlight the animals eyes on your farm. And then I found out you folks had Shetland Sheep, and well, it was all over πŸ™‚ You folks deserve the award, most certainly. Someday I’ll see you folks on Freshly Pressed and I will feel like a proud-mama!

    • Boy … to be Freshly Pressed … I like to think about it … but it’ll never happen. We should talk about this sometime. I don’t know why … but I’d really like to increase my reader/follower base, but have no idea how. I follow one blog that has > 30,000 followers and another that has > 10,000 … I have no idea how this happens. Is the difference that these folks have Facebook pages that draw interest? I know the blog is just a fun-kinda-thing … sort of a hobby … to keep me out of Joanna’s hair in the evenings! But I feel as if I spend the time and put in the effort I’d like to see a few ‘fruits,’ know what I mean? At the rate I’m going it’ll take a decade … how do these folks attract such large followings so quickly? As the kids would say … whatever. I’ll just keep on doing what I do and be glad for it. [Sorry to have bent your ear.] D

  2. You ARE a very inspiring blogger! Glad you’ve been cited as such! Just goes to show you that 30 years can pass and your true skills/passions are still there! I guess the morning addiction to coffee is genetic.

  3. Congratulations you really deserve the award … and thanks for the mention …. just keep on taking and posting your wonderful photos, framed by your creative mind πŸ™‚
