(Lots of) green grass
I was complaining, the other day, that the weather was keeping us from harvesting our first-cut hay crop. The other side of that proverbial coin is that our pastures are thick, green, and way ahead of the animals. We had all of sheep in yesterday to replace lamb tags with scrapie tags, castrate the rams, and treat all the lambs for external parasites. This gave us the opportunity to get a good look at the flock and to judge individual body condition. The lambs are growing very nicely and all of the adults are in super condition. We did get rain, yet again, yesterday and the day before … but, the forecast is looking nice for the end of the coming week.
