(not yet) Spring
I was doing chores this morning and noticed that the compression springs on the hi-tensile fence made nice silhouettes against the snow. These keep the fence wires under uniform tension and act as shock absorbers against line impact. There is one spring for each of the eight strands that comprise the fence – and each is under approximately 200 pounds of tension. Collectively, eight wires apply more than three-quarters of a ton of pull at the corners which must be well, and solidly, installed. Perhaps I’ll blog about hi-tensile fence installation; now, wouldn’t that be exciting?
